In the past he has presented at a number of other business development centres including the Richmond Hill Business Centre and the Gezhtoojig Employment & Training (Sudbury, Ontario)John has also been a guest speaker at the Bridges to Better Business Conference (London, Ontario 2007), the Metropolitan Toronto Reference Library, the University of Western Ontario and the Small Business Expo (2001). John also participated in a pilot long distance learning project with the Community Futures Development Corporation of Alberni-Clayoquot. Through a series of on-line workshops John helped entrepreneurs with disabilities on Vancouver Island research their business ventures. John has appeared twice on the television program CareersTV as a expert guest and has been published and quoted in a number of entrepreneurial publications including Small Business Canada Magazine and the Globe & Mail. He stresses a practical approach to researching a new business that is geared towards a small or non-existent research budget. His newsletter, The Business Researcher, contains tips & techniques for successful do-it-yourself research as well as information on small business and entrepreneurship in Canada. It can also be found in business development centres and in libraries across Canada. You can also subscribe and access the archives online.
